Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of four people, including three firefighters, in a fire at a chemical warehouse in Tongi.
In his condolence message, the Principal Advisor said, “Four people, including three of our brave firefighters, lost their lives in the fire while performing their noble duty of saving lives. This is a heartbreaking incident. I pray for the souls of the deceased and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.”
The Principal Advisor further said, “Members of the fire safety force are engaged in protecting people’s lives and property day and night, risking their lives to save the lives of others. The nation is eternally indebted to their sacrifice. Today’s accident reminded us of the great risks they take while performing their duties. Their great sacrifice will be forever remembered in the history of the nation.”
Dr. Yunus said, “We did not just lose a few lives in this accident, but we saw an example of our courage, humanity and dedication. The fire service is the most reliable and courageous force in the country. In times of crisis, they are the first to jump in and stand by the people. Today, they had to give their lives while performing that noble duty. This is a matter of deep sorrow for the entire nation.”
Consoling the bereaved families, the Chief Advisor said, “Your loved ones did not just lose their lives, they sacrificed their lives for the nation. Every person in the country will remember their sacrifice with respect. I share your pain, and pray that Allah gives you patience and strength in this difficult time.”
Praying for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased, the Chief Advisor said, “This painful loss can never be compensated. However, their sacrifice will be our inspiration, so that we can build a safe Bangladesh.”
